Simple, with a lot of POP, gerber daisies make excellent newborn photography props.

My little angel…

I love this adorable hat. It’s my favorite accessory. Although it’s summer, it’s proven quite useful after bath time when Pepper is cold.

My new little girl has arrived. I’ve patiently been waiting for her and am so happy she is finally here! The whole family fell in love with her instantly and even her big brothers can’t stop staring. We love our Pepper Jeanne.

Although I’ll try to keep posting photo shoots from this past spring, don’t be surprised to see many more newborn pictures this next month.

Just three days old…

Windward Photographer: Seven Years Old

Turning 7 was a big deal for ethan…but then again, every birthday is a big deal.

The silliness, the fun, the celebration…so much to look forward to! What a happy boy.

I love you my darling Ethan.

A couple of months ago I started giving photography lessons to my son on Furlough Fridays. Ethan was so excited to hold a real SLR camera and learn about the automatic settings and how to take care of the camera. It was the cutest thing to show him a couple of tips and then follow him around to see what he wanted to photograph. He told me what he was looking at and why and then I could help him capture the shot.

Afterwards, while we looked at his images, we talked about composition and what he thought made the picture interesting. Asking a child to show you what he sees through the lens is such a great experience. We both had fun and learned something new…especially about perspective. Every couple of weeks since he has asked for another mini lesson. I’m so happy to have fostered this new interest in him. Who knows, maybe he will follow in my footsteps.
