Valentine Sweethearts

Today I was reminded of when I was in 6th grade and wrote a paper about the Valentine’s Day Massacre. While everyone else in my 6th grade class was writing about love and drawing hearts all over their papers, I insisted that red, pink and white really represented blood, flesh and courage as the true colors of battle. Apparently I was a bit anti-Valentine’s then. Now that I am slightly more grown up, I have changed my mind about the holiday. I get creative thinking of fun ways to show my kids how much they are loved.

One of these ideas came from These adorable mini cards were so irresistible I had to get them. This morning I even got the nod of approval from my husband. I always assume he doesn’t care about these things, but I saw that he kept picking up the cards saying, “these are so cute!”

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you have a day filled with the sweetness of love…and also the courage to share it.
